The Party of Russian Pioneers and Farmers (Russian language: Партия Пионеров и Земледельцев России, ППиЗР), is a center to center-right political party in Alaska. It is among the five large parties in the country holding seats in the Alaskan Duma. It is currently an opposition party.

Platform

The Party of Russian Pioneers and Farmers is a party composed overwhelmingly of Russian settlers who arrived in Alaska prior to the Russian Civil War and mass immigration of the 1920s. The party is broadly in favor of devolution and restoring the governorate's powers as soon as feasibly possible - though the party recognizes that given the circumstances it is not immediately going to see a return to pre-war life. The party is socially conservative and fiscally moderate promoting the protection of small businesses, farms, and fishing and fur trapping operations. The party is furthermore, generally in favor of protectionism with regard to key Alaskan industries such as copper and coal mining and support agricultural tariffs to help Alaskan farmers compete with Canadian and American produce. The party is also officially in favor of Blue Laws, supporting the establishment of Sundays as official days of rest - a policy which had been in place prior to the total suspension of local rule by Mikhail Diterikhs in 1922. Finally, the party is the greatest advocate for gun rights supporting open carry and protections for rifles used by hunters and homesteaders due to the prevalence of wolf and bear attacks in much of the Alaskan frontier.

Demokratichnyy

The more radical wing of the Pioneers, the Demokratichnyy are ardent defenders are the liberty of the Russian settlers, coupling strident Russian-Alaskan nationalism with a ferociously defensive view of democratic institutions and personal freedoms, particularly, in a turn of phrase the party founders borrowed from the American Republican Party, “Free Soil, Free Speech, Free Labor, Free Men”.
