Pashmir (پشمیر), officially Pashmiristan (پشمیرستان), is a historical and cultural region in Central Ochran, encompassing northern Shimlar and Pashmir. Pashmir is inhabited by the indigenous Pashmiri people of Shimlar and Pashmir wherein Pashmiri culture, the Pashmu language, and Pashmiri identity have been based.
Pashmir is known for the scenery of its mountainous landscape and its rich history. It also contains Shimlar and Pashmir's largest city, Singpush, and other iconic towns and villages.
It was under the rule of the Bayarid Empire, The Blue Horde, and the Jade Road Khannate. During the late 17th century, Khan Hozak, a Pashmiri tribal leader from Singpush, aligned with the Pamirani tribes and rebelled against the Jade Road Khans. Khan Hozak led a contingent of 4,000 Pashmiri tribesmen, capturing Singpush, expelling the local Uluujol garrison, and causing Ulujool survivors to flee to southern Uluujol. The tribes of Pashmiristan "unanimously accepted" Khan Hozak as their new leader, and he led multiple campaigns against the declining Jade Road Khanate Empire. In 1919, Pashmiri Shazad-Pasha Ali invaded the lands of Shimlar, and captured Mirshehar. With the capture of Mirshehar, Ali absorbed the valley's of Shimlar into the Pashmiri Realm, creating the modern nation of Shimlar and Pashmir
