The Port of Brightburg (Radictistani: Brightburghavn) is a port complex located on the Breitgolf within the Municipality of Brightburg, Radictistan's third largest city. The Port of Brightburg is one of the busiest container ports in Radictistan and is a major conduit for petroleum and chemical imports. It is also regularly visited by foreign cruise ships.

The port is one of the largest employers in Brightburg, directly employing over 39,000 persons. Many others work in the numerous support industries associated with water transport.

Governance

The port is operated by the Brightburg Port Authority. The port authority is a self-sustaining department of the Brightburg municipal government. Its five commissioners are appointed by the Statmeister. The commissioners appoint a Harbormaster to be in charge of the daily operation of the port facilities. The Chief Commissioner is Alexander Chomsky and the Harbormaster is Friedrik Berger.

Security is provided by private security guards and personnel from the Royal Maritime Police which also maintains navigational aids.

Shipping

The Port of Brightburg has numerous facilities for freight transport including seven container terminals, one automobile terminal, five terminals for bulk fluids, two dry bulk terminals, and a break-bulk terminal. There are 191 ship berths in total including 16 with access to shore power. The main imports coming through Brightburg are petroleum products and industrial chemicals. The container terminals serve as the main exit point for Radictistan's exports of manufactured goods, particularly consumer products. The volume of shipping traffic has decreased along with the overall vitality of the Radictistani economy, falling from 5.6 million TEUs in 2013 to 5.43 million TEUs handled five years later.

Passenger traffic

The Brightburg Cruise Terminal can accommodate three cruise ships of up to 340 meters overall length simultaneously. Brightburg is a port of call for the SS Wellington, a Gold Star Cruise Ship Line vessel of 56,000 GT and the 122,800 GT Vibrance Ocean Voyages ship Brilliance of the Solstice.
