Puffa-Cola is a carbonated beverage popular produced by Vitalo in Malgrave.
History
Puffa-Cola was launched by Vitalo in 1938. It was originally designed and marketed as a health supplement to help workers that found traditional health supplement drinks to be distasteful and hard to drink during work, however, manufacturing defects present at the time meant that the twist cap was often hard to open and the drink gained a negative reputation which made it unpopular amongst workers and the drink was almost pulled from the shelves after several years of poor performance.
In 1951 Puffa-Cola was relaunched with an easy to open "pull-cap" bottle top and an advertising campaign focused around a helpful but cute puffin that promoted social solidarity. Together with the discovery of Malgravean Immunodeficiency Disorder Puffa-Cola started to become increasingly popular and over the decades has grown to become one of the countries most popular beverages. It is known by a unique "pull-cap" bottle top and a small puffin mascot which promotes the product.
Sponsorships
Starting in 1967 Puffa-Cola entered into a partnership with Puffin Island, with the company sponsoring tours of the island and financing efforts to help the local puffin population.
In 2009 Puffa-Cola and Vitalo financed the production of Rainy Day and it sponsors the Portmon Puffins, a baseball team that operates from Portmon.
