Qhirciks are sentient semi-humanoids native to the aquatic planet Qhiris and found widely throughout the galaxy. Qhirciks are characterized by a facial tentacle protruding from their lower jaws, a pair of deep turquoise eyes, finned hands with suction-tipped fingers, and small tusks on their mouth. In the long antenna that extended backwards from either side of their heads, Qhirciks have gill-like structures that are actually hearing organs. Natural swimmers most comfortable underwater, prefering to be immersed in liquid, they are also bipedal beings that can walk and sit upright. Any atmosphere without humidity can be bad for a Qhircik's skin and nasal passages, resulting in off-world members of the species turning to breathing devices, oils, or frequent bathing. Qhirciks typically wear clothing that covers most of their body, though leave their heads unadorned.

Ruled by a monarchy, the Qhiris culture matriarchal and hive-like in a caste-based system separated by positions that include drones, warriors, middle, and elites. Qhirciks are born into hives with each led by a queen. The queen lays eggs for the hive, and provide orders to the public leaders of the planet.
