The RFA-90 is a heavy anti-materiel rifle designed and produced by Callahan Firearms of Temuair and in service with the Aisling Defense Force as well as other nations around the world. The RPH-90 is known for its long range, high accuracy, high muzzle velocity, lethality, and extreme reliability.

History and background

An RFA-90-2 airborne anti-material rifle

In 1975 the Lumenic Legion released a study identifying that the armed force's lack of a dedicated long range anti-material rifle indicated a severe disadvantage when engaged against parity, similarity equipped forces. Experiences during the war with Transnapastaini anti-material rifles such as the KSVP demonstrated a technological and tactical gap between most Allied Forces and the Soviet Order forces engaged in the Omandan Continental War.

After several failed bids by domestic and other allied firearms manufactures, the Legion turned to Callahan Firearms of Temuair for a design to fill the anti-material role for the Legion and other interested Allied powers. Callahan is notable for having had previous experience in developing high powered, large caliber rifles, such as the RFA-35

Design

The RFA-90 was designed to be compact, lightweight, accurate, low-recoil, portable and easily deployable for immediate use. While the RPF-90 and RPF-90A has an overall length of 1126 mm (44.3 in) it can be collapsed to a length of 928 mm (36.5 in) for easier transportation. Thanks to its internal recoil control mechanisms and bullpup configuration, recoil is reported to be relatively light given the rifle's ammunition. The entire rifle is constructed from lightweight aluminum alloy.

A bullpup configuration was choose for the weapon, allowing most of the weapon to be distributed to the rear of the rifle allowing for the possibility of off hand firing.
