The Reiterpanzerkampfwagen V, also known as the Panthera or Mark V, is a medium tank in use by the Imperial & Federal Common Army. It is intended to replace the Reiterpanzer IV as the primary armoured fighting vehicle of the Common Army's panzer divisions. However, as the Panthera Magnus is a newer design, its production and deployment has been limited to 'elite' formations within the Ostwall Loop, and shipments have only recently begun to reach Army formations on the frontier regions. The Reiterpanzer V is intended to be a general purpose armoured fighting vehicle, capable of engaging and destroying hostile armoured vehicles, heavy and line infantry, as well as providing general support for Imperialist infantry forces.

The Panthera Magnus is a major improvement on the Reiterpanzer IV, and incorporates many lessons learned from bother the Reiterpanzer and Ritterpanzer series of tanks. The main gun on the Magnus provides far superior firepower when compared to the weapon on the IV, and provides nearly equivalent anti-armour ability to the cannon on the Ritterpanzer II. In terms of armour, the Magnus utilises new mithril-steel alloy which benefits from armour angling, providing greater passive defence, while the powerful w-870c reactor provides exceptionally powerful reflector screens.
