Remnant Spirit is a strong distilled liquor made by Remnant House, a distillery located in Rak, Themiclesia. It comes in 38%, 45%, 52%, 58%, and 65% ABV basic varieties, and additional flavours are offered on a regular or irregular basis.
The name of the spirit is derived from the enological practice of boiling alcoholic drinks prior to consumption, which causes alcohol to condense against the lid of the boiling vessel; the distilled remnant was known to be highly intoxicating as early as the 1300s and was thus usually discarded until the 15th century, when it first found medicinal applications before becoming a liquor for drinking in the 17th century.
