The Sharkdonian Armed Forces, or in Native Sharkdonese, Sharkdonia Maximo Exercitus, are the military forces of the Autocratic Stratocracy of Sharkdonia, and is responsible for the defense of all Sharkdonian territories and the promoting of the nation's interests. It consists of the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Commando Corps, and the National Guard. The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces is the Supreme Leader, and it's highest ranking officer is the Grand Marshal. Both make military policies in conjunction with each other via the Sharkdonian Grand Council

From its ancient origins at the beginning of the Imperial period, to today's modern equivalent, the Sharkdonian Armed Forces has played a highly crucial role in shaping the history of Sharkdonia. A sense of national unity and identity was forged by the Sharkdonian Armed Forces as a result of the many successful campaigns during the Imperial Age. It played a critical role in forming the Sharkdonian Empire, and continued to serve as the military force of the empire until the collapse of the empire in 15th century AD. After the Novus Revolution in 1756 overthrew the foreign rulers and re-instated the Builder Dynasty as the Supreme Leaders, the Sharkdonia Armed Forces were reinstated, with many adjustments to fit better within the new era. The National Military Act of 1965 was the single largest change to the military since 1756, and created the modern Sharkdonian Military framework.

The Sharkdonian Armed Forces are one of the largest militaries in number of personnel. It draws its personnel from a large pool of both paid volunteers and conscripts. During an emergency in wartime, a large portion of the population can be conscripted into the Armed Forces, but this typically does not happen.
