The Silver Aegis (SA) is a theater-level component command of the Silverdaleaen Navy, Located in the Aurora Ocean. It provides a specialized naval fleet for its unique command structure, Silver Aegis Command. Its HQ is located at Naval Anchorage Penguin Island, with a second large facility at Celicia Island.
The Silver Aegis is renowned for its unique classification of miniaturized warships within an 'exopowered' magitek rig for a single naval soldier called a 'shipgirl.' Shipgirls are soldiers who undergo a genetic augmentation to handle the magitek equipment, physical endurance, and conditions at sea. Women have a high success rate from genetic enhancement to become supersoldiers. Still, it is uncommon for men to pass as well.
The members of the Silver Aegis have more liberties in the service and work as morale support to idolihood.
Origins
The Silver Aegis was formed after Project Mermaid, a Rohanian and Silverdalean Research Commission in the 1990s, completed its first trials. The goal of the project is to build a new generation of ships with the same capabilities but to minimize the cost of lives and operate cheaper. When President Bobby changed the focus of the Silver Aegis as support units for Silverdalean fleets, the goals shifted for a public relationship and morale work.
The Silver Aegis found itself in small conflicts with monsters but broke out when the Kraken War began. As the shipgirls mobility and small size allowed them to escape monsters' jaws, they subdue many colossal creatures with ease. Since then, the Silver Aegis has become more involved with naval operations to crack down on piracy, evil counterparts of ship girls, and other monstrous threats in Southern Mystria.
Composition
The Silver Aegis consists of its own 'little fleet' from the traditional naval fleets of Silverdale. As numerous types of ship classes, both old and modern, it is an unusual formation. Its force is split into 'motifs', such as the core as Mystic and Cold, to liberty and freedom
