Six Chancellors

The Six Chancellors refer to a number of very high-ranking officers in the medieval to early modern Themiclesian government. Due to their position of power, the division of duties between them was quite flexible according to contemporary needs, personal influence, and royal views, until the 1500s when their duties became more or less fixed.

Chancellor of State

Vice Chancellor of State

The Vice Chancellor, when sole, takes the place of the Chancellor of State. Generally this office is used when a suitable candidate exists for the Chancellorship but is not of the required rank in the aristocracy.

First Vice Chancellor

Also called the Chancellor of Provinces, the First Vice Chancellor was usually charged with supervising the six provinces of Themiclesia.

Second Vice Chancellor

Also called the Chancellor of the City, the major government departments (except the Exchequer) reported to the Second Vice Chancellor.

Exchequer Chancellor

The Exchequer Chancellor was the chief financial officer of the Themiclesian government since ancient times, and
