The entrance of the Solitude

The Solitude of Aeron (in Losh: Aeron a Magyana) is a Docetic hermitage located in the Azdrheg mountains. Despite its very recent construction, it was only established in 1926 by the 4rth Council of the Docetic Universities of Drevstran, it is considered to be a major location for the Docetic Faith worldwide and a significant center of pilgrimage for both Docetics and Emendatics christians who are open to Docetic traditions. It’s prestige comes from the claim that it houses the Ark of the Covenant, transferred to Aeron from Skaldafen where the Ark was said to have been held before, to protect it from the Civil War that ravaged the country.

Description

In 1920, Mount Aeron was secretly chosen by a delegation of Drevstraneses offiicials and Docetic teachers to be the new shelter of the Ark of the Covenant after the Mayor of the Palace Orbraggar had agreed to receive it from the Skaldafen Revolutionary Committee to protect it from the civil war in their country. The location was chosen for its remoteness, secluded nature, but also for its gentle western slope that allowed for the rapid construction of a decent dirt road capable to let construction trucks go up and down the mountain safely. A natural cavern is said to have been enlarged and arranged to receive the Ark without any risk of degradation for the relic. Meanwhile, a small Solitude, a form of Docetic religious building reserved to Hermits, was built beside it to serve as the new home of the Guardian of the Ark.

It’s only in 1921 after the convoy carrying the Ark from Skaldafen to Aeron safely reached its destination that Drevstran announced the event, with the publication of pictures of the Ark original crypt in Skaldafen being now empty as proof. The actual location of the Ark was not publicly disclosed however, neither by the Mayorship of the Palace nor by the Universities of Drevstran. It’s only in 1926 and with the 4rth Council of Drevstran that the existence of the Solitude of Aeron would be officially recognized and the site be granted legal status.

Since then, the Solitude has been expanded mainly through worshipers donations and funds granted by various Docetic Universities. This includes facilities to accommodate pilgrims such as an outdoor and a covered places of prayers and a parking lot, strictly separated from the Solitude proper where only the Guardian of the Ark is allowed. Improvement to the sole road that lead to the Solitude have been purposefully lacking, and to this day the road remains unpaved and prohibited from cars (except for the laïcs who resupply the Guardian and help him in the maintenance of the site).
