As a region, it was first mentioned by the Silo Empire. The cities of Ostov and Losdemon became important border regions of trade with valleys opening pathways inland. It became part of Gasaria proper in 1536. It was named as a province in Gasaria's first constitution in 1661.
The status of Solon is contentious. The Federate Union-backed Solon Provisional Authority administers the Federate-occupied territory. The Solon Military-Civilian Council governs Gasarian paramilitary-occupied territory.
Gasarians and Tasians are the predominant ethnic groups in the region.
