The MG m/83, officially the Maschingevær Modell 1883, was an Acrean 6.8x65mm heavy machine gun designed by Vinzent von Stuhr for the Acrean Armed Forces in the 1880s. Derived from von Stuhr's earlier black powder MG m/78, the m/83 was designed to take advantage of critical advancements in small arms technology, in particular the advent of hvittpulver, or smokeless powder, by Acrean chemist Stig Vignes in 1879.
