Tarikya is the southernmost major city in the nation of Kiyortza, and the largest in the province of Tarisk-Virtakyo, with its population of just over 1 million people within its urban limits. It is otherwise also part of the Tarikya-Valino Metropolitan Area, which includes the nearby city-state of Valino on the mouth of the Tarisk River.

Climate
Tarikya has a Mediterranean climate, enjoying a large amount of sunshine throughout most of the year. Precipitation falls mostly within the mild winter months, while the city's summers are often without rain. Heatwaves occasionally occur in the spring and autumn months, arriving from the nearby Veus Desert to its east.
