The Lykaines is the popular nickname for a group of individuals affiliated with Aoife Brighteye of Dyflin. The Lykaines tend to be women and are almost all veterans or serving soldiers. Current members of the Lykaines include Aoife Brighteye, Lani Macaw, Sofia Kirsch and Avery Jomsburg, among others.

History

The group is believed to have its origins in regular coffee meetings between Aoife Brighteye]] and Sofia Kirsch in the summer of 2008, when Hlasyctere Brighteye was commanding the 2nd Company of the Brytisc Grenadier Regiment which was stationed aboard the CFS Hawkmoth, whose captain at the time was Captain Kirsch. The two maintained contact following Aoife's honourable discharge from the military, and Admiral Kirsch endorsed Ms Brighteye in her campaign as Thegn of Dyflin Greymont.

Avery Jomsburg's connection to the group is unknown, although as a member of R-DARK it is likely that she became familiar with Jarl Aoife as part of the routine operation of state business. Lani Macaw was assigned as the head of Brighteye's strengthened bodyguard following the murder of Uhtred of Deepdale.

Traditions

Lykaines are typically all female veterans or service personnel, although some media outlets have interpreted other individuals such as the late Uhtred of Deepdale as being members of the group. Members of the group are regularly seen at society functions and other events together, and can often be distinguished by a rainbow corinthian helmet patch sported somewhere on their person. It has been speculated that the increasing tendency for the Lykaines to appear together, along with its composition of primarily combat-trained individuals, is a response to the increased threat of terror attack and assassination that has been affecting Brytene since mid-2015.
