Type-85 Main Battle Tank

The Type-85 main battle tank is a second generation MBT produced in Songguo, though it was only partially designed domestically (with much of its technical information being acquired through Operation 0185). There are 31 battalions in active service with the Songhua military, comprising 992 vehicles, though most have been upgraded to so-called "Super 85s" with improvements and updates to various systems. This tank has seen massive production for export to various Sermaye Treaty Organization members in particular, as well as other countries, and is still in active production for export purposes and to replace the Type-79 and the Type-75. The Type-85 has seen action in a number of conflicts, including the Blue Banner Rebellion, and the 6-6 Crisis. Lessons learned in these conflicts have helped to shape subsequent Songhua tank design.
