The university currently has close to 30,000 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than twenty areas of study.
Organization
Governance
Responsibility for the long-term direction of the University of Nuxenstat is entrusted to the Board of Governors, a 20-member body. The composition of the Board of Governors reflects the University's status as a public institution under royal patronage. Ten members are appointed by the Grand Duke and the other ten by the Greater Nuxenstat Assembly. All members are appointed for life so that they may maintain independence from government or Crown authority. The Board of Governors selectes a President to oversee the day-to-day operations of the University. The current President is Konrad Oswalt, who was created Baron Oswalt upon his entry into office.

Campus
The main campus sits on 143 hectares (1.43 km2) south of the central business and government district of Nuxenstat on the east side of the Radicti River. Nuxenstat South Station is nearby and the campus is served by the Red Line of the Nuxenstat Metro. The University also owns smaller properties farther from the main cityscape. Because of the high value of land and dense urbanization of Greater Nuxenstat, the University cannot acquire more property adjacent to or near the main campus and must build up on its existing land to accommodate its required facilities.
Physical plant
The main campus is served by its own district heating system. A heat-only boiler station produces high temperature steam by burning natural gas. The steam is distributed to campus buildings by a system of underground pipes. The university's satellite properties rely on local utilities for their heat. The physical plant also meets the main campus' cooling needs.
Public safety
The University of Nuxenstat does not have its own dedicated police force unlike some of its counterparts in foreign countries. A number of personnel from the Nuxenstat Metropolitan Police Department are stationed permanently at a post located on the main campus and the Royal Security Police irregularly conducts patrols. The university also employs private security guards to protect its property from vandalism and other acts of malfeasance. These personnel do not hold police powers and are subject to the same restrictions regarding search and detention as all other private citizens. The main campus is generally considered to be a safe and secure area. Few major crimes are reported.
Libraries
The main campus has three main libraries, the Pappenheimer Library, the Abdulmatin Library, and the Loschwiz Library which serve the general research needs of the student body. The Kroes Law Library is the largest law library in Radictistan. The Loschwiz Library houeses the university's collection of rare books and manuscripts. The University of Nuxenstat Library System houses over nine million volumes making it the largest academic library system in Radictistan.
Museums and archives
The University of Nuxenstat hosts the Keigentolm Center. The center is a museum and archive containing materials related to Radictistani film, theater, and literature. Adjacent to the Keigentolm is the Spengler Museum of Art.
Academics
The University of Nuxenstat grants degrees in the humanities, the social sciences, the sciences, law, and business. All Faculties of the University confer graduate and doctoral degrees. Prospective undergraduate students apply to the university as a whole rather than to an individual faculty and there are no special academic requirements for any of them. The University is most highly regarded for its programs in the humanities and the social sciences. It is also known for its law and business programs. The university academic calendar runs from late August until the middle of May and is divided into two semesters.
Undergraduate
To undergraduates, the University of Nuxenstat awards Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), and Bachelor of Accountancy (B.Acc) degrees. Of the university's 18,632 undergraduate students, a majority choose to focus within the Arts or the Social Sciences. Of particular prominence is the university's Philosopy, Politics, and Economics focus which is often referred to as the incubator of cabinet ministers.
Graduate
The University of Nuxenstat awards Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (M.S.), Master of Accountancy (M.Acc), and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degrees. The university also awards Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Doctor of Busines Administration (D.B.A.), and Doctor of Laws (J.D.) degrees.

Student life
Housing
The University of Nuxenstat main campus has ten residence halls for undergraduate students. Eight are mixed-gender buildings while one residence hall each is reserved for the exclusive use of male or female students. Only about one third of all undergraduates live in on-campus accommodations. The remainder are required to furnish their own living quarters elsewhere within Nuxenstat. Student housing is allocated by lottery; students with limited means are eligible for a small stipend to offset the cost of rent.
Dining
The main campus has six dining halls for use by students. The main campus is also home to a small number of fast food outlets and three coffee shops for students and faculty to patronize outside of scheduled meal times.
Media
A weekly newspaper, The Informer, is edited and published by students alongside a literary magazine. There is also a student-run internet radio station which streams music and social-political commentary.
Organizations
The University of Nuxenstat campus is home to a considerable number of student organizations. Because of the future political potential of the student body all major Radictistani political parties maintain a presence on campus via their respective student organizations. These elite bodies are the primary recruitment organs of the parties.
Notable people
Graduates of the University of Nuxenstat have and continue to fill a disproportionate number of positions at the higher echelons of Radictistani politics, government administration, and business.
