Otazia is a coastal country in western Euclea. It has a population of 32 million. The official and most spoken language is Otazian. The country is home to various different climates and landscapes, holding an extremely diverse eco-system. Its largest city is Kalishov.

Humans have been in the land now known as Otazia for hundreds of years. The earliest known government is documented to be the Artashoka Kingdom, which consisted of a small territory around Kalishov. The kingdom was responsible for conquering and uniting most of what is modern Otazia with the exception of a rival nation known as Roseburgh high in the Pytor Mountains. Roseburgh was a rather small yet formidable nation. With a large military and unrivaled tactics. Roseburgh and Artashoka battled for decades until finally reaching a treaty that lasted for centuries. The nation enjoyed peace until the great splintering. Where many provinces of Artashoka revolted and successfully separated from the kingdom. Once again the country was plunged into an era of war. The years of war eventually brought the provinces to their senses as threats from beyond the border grew. The provinces -along with Roseburgh- united under a loose alliance in 1623, forming the modern borders of Otazia.

From the formation of The United Provinces of Otazia to the early 1800s, the nation enjoyed relative peace and growth under the monarchy. However, with the rise of socialism across the world growing. It started to gain traction in Otazia. First it was peaceful protests, which were allowed until they began to turn violent. Shortly after, all socialist sentiments were banned across the nation. This did little more than stoke the fires of revolution. Small revolutionary groups popped up around the country, voicing their displeasure of the imperialist and oppressive government. The revolutionary groups -mostly made up of lower class individuals- quickly banded together naming Mikael Rostov as their leader. Mikael and his family were well known socialist supporters, being members of the upper class they promised to bring equality among all classes and unify the country under the workers party. WIP

With the socialist country a empty shell of its former self. Nationalist forces were able to storm the capital building, capturing the Commissar and killing many government officials. On July 23rd of 1975 the Otazian Republic was formed. The republic had an extremely powerful and centralized government, and set their sights on undoing all that the socialists had achieved. This stuck Otazia in a stagnant state for years, all of the unprecedented growth seen from the previous regime was now being torn down. WIP

Contemporary

In the modern age Otazia enjoys a democratic republic, with elections being held every five years. Elections have leaned to the right since the founding of the democracy and analysts do not see that trend changing. The recent democracy is supported by a majority, but there are still a few who long for the old government, whether that be nationalist or socialist. Extremist groups are vocal on their displeasure of the government and use their freedom of speech to their favor. Small conflicts with government -whether local of national- are not unheard of and continue to this day.

Geography

Otazia is known for it's very diverse geography, from plains to mountain ranges to dense forests. Otazia is home to a variety of flora and fauna. Summers range from warm to hot and winters are generally very cold, with snowfall lasting from october to mid/late march.

Politics

Otazia is a constitutional, democratic, multiparty republic, similar in nature to many of its Euclean neighbours.

Government

Aimilia's unicameral legislature is the Council of Ministers, and the head of government is Dank Basic the Vice President. WIP

Foreign relations

In recent times, Otazia has mostly kept to itself, focusing on rebuilding the infrastructure and strengthening the economy before it can enter the geopolitical stage. This being said the nation still participates in routine trading and relies heavily on imports to support the economy.

Military

The Otazians military consists of four main branches, The Navy, Air Force, Army, and Peacekeeping Corps. The Navy, Army, and Air Force are mostly reserves and serve to protect the country in the act of political unrest of a foreign invasion. The Peacekeeping Corps is the only actively deployed branch and consists of naval and aviation units, this branch serves to protect nations who either cannot afford an active military, are experiencing political and or civil unrest. Or have applied and been accepted for Peacekeeping deployments.

The Otazians military is allowed a fairly large budget as keeping the military well equipped with cutting edge equipment and training are a well known priority of the nation.

The largest exports of the nation are firearms and ammunition, proccessed meats, coal, iron, steel, and copper. The nations main imports are agricultural products, foodstuffs, crude and refined oil, coffee, machinery equipment and automobiles, and chemical products

Science and technology

The main focus of Otazian technology is military arms and equipments, the university of Roseburg is a main contributer to the advancement due to their Roseburg Armament Development Program -RADP-.
