The Grand Republic of Volkhov (вєлии ѩзꙑкъ Волѕов), more commonly known as Volkhov, is a Princely Merchant Republic made up of semi-autonomous Governorates located in the Eastern part of Cybelleum in the world of Verthandi.
Etymology
The Grand Republic of Volkhov takes it name from the capital of Volkhov, which shares it name with. Volkhov in Volkhova is actually said as Volsov but a corruption of the word outside of the region led to Volkhov becoming the more popular pronounication. Some residents still call it Volsov but a majority of people refer it to only as Volkhov
