Vyerzhany is a city in Galania, Syara. It is the second largest city in the Realm with a population over over 1.6 million. Vyerzhany is located along Galania's narrow coast with the Nuadan Ocean, where the Malonrana River meats the sea. Vyerzhany is the largest port of Galania and a major commercial center where the majority of international trade to and from Galania is loaded and offloaded. Vyerzhany is also home to the main administrative and command center of the Syaran Space Agency, Vyerzhany Space Port. Vyerzhany has likely been inhabited by humans for millennia, but the earliest identified settlment was established around 300 BCE as part of the Galanian Kingdom. Vyerzhany was a minor port for the Makedonian Empire, but grew in prominence during the Rioni Union and later the Republic of Syara. Vyerzhany was captured by the Wardens early on in the Refusal War and escaped most of the devestation of the war. Following the establishment of the Commonality Vyerzhany has continued to grow and expand, surpassing Koziativka as Galania's second largest city in 2006.
