Wesley Bonaparte (born December 11, 1943) is a Wareselt-Hilley attorney, politician, and diplomat currently serving as the 13th President of Wareselt since 2023. Born in Saint Hilley to Wareselt parents, Bonaparte's father was the Minister of Foreign Affairs under president Joshua Melte from 1951-1959. After attending the University of Halstel, Bonaparte began a law career and was noted for his high profile cases. Bonaparte gained national recognition for prosecuting anti-war activists during the ANS' support of Zamastan in the 1999-2005 War in Vulkaria. He was named the Minister of Foreign Affairs under president Matthew Fulber from 2008 to 2018. In 2022 he announced his candidacy for president and defeated incumbent Thomlen Gust, taking office in February 2023.
Bonaparte's presidency has been marked by the successful membership admittance to the Alliance of Nortuan States, firmer regulation of trade, and an expansion of constitutional rights. He has been criticized for his often confrontative public behavior with press and political opponents.
