The Ignesia national football team (Santer: ...), nicknamed Rox Axempen (The Imperials), represents Ignesia in men’s international football and is administered by the Avosepen Futboal Igneza. They are part of the ISC since 1998, and have been part of it from 1916 until 1955, when the national team was dissolved.
They have been the only ever national team to never fail to qualify for the Nation’s Cup while active, and is the most successful national team in it, winning it a total of 7 times, winning the 1920, 1924, 1940, 1948 editions in the national team’s first iteration, and winning the 2000, 2004, and 2008 editions back to back in its second iteration. It is also the only nation ever to win the Nation’s Cup in the 5 different continents, twice in Avanere (1920 Hysante, 2004 Pereneie), twice in Vimicia (1940 Ignesia, 2008 Nermesten), once in Eurrene (1924 Kanage), once in Ivasia (1948 Ovessia), and once in Trineve (2000 Revese-Fareneus). They is also the most successful national side in the Copano Vimiceyra in the 21st century, and the second most successful in the ISC Intercontinentals, winning it 7 and 4 times respectively.
The Ignesian national team went defunct in 1955, after the Ignesian government abolished the team and many sporting institutions out of caution from the Trissala Revolutions. It would be reinstated in 1998, when many notable football players, mainly Victor Royal, Lexarredeu, Schvane Ixava, and many others, campaigned for it's reformation. Ignesia has the highest average Fauven rating, as well as the highest ever peak Fauven rating. During the 2000s, the Ignesian national football sqaud, nicknamed the "Volleyballers", won 3 Nation's Cups and 5 Copano Vimiceyras, being widely regarded as the greatest ever team to be assembled in the sport of football.
