The Years of Humilation was a 35 year period from 1790 to 1825 where the kingdom of Assumptaria was vassalised by the The Empire of Three Kings. Its named this because it was looked down upon by shame by both the newly independent and unvassalised independent and modern day Assumptaria. This period both directly caused the total isolation period of Assumptaria and the education subject of Christian Studies in Assumptaria.
Cause of The Occupation
In the 1790s, The Empire of Three Kings was just after completing it's Westwards Expandion and already militarized when it looked towards Assumptaria. The assumptarian river H'va (Pronounced Rey) and its tributaries produced large wetlands perfect for growing food and other agriculture, this rich soil attracted the militaristic attention of The Empire of Three Kings. On June 8th 1790, war by the empire on the Kingdom of Assumptaria was declared, beginning the Assumptarian-Musterlarian War of 1790. It was a decisive loss for the Assumptarians and led to King 'Iayya Y'o (Pronoujced Eye-ab-ba Bo) being dethroned and his son 'Ohv'a Y'O (Ora Bo) being installed as a vassal king.
Consequences Of The Occupation
Exploitation Of Resources
After the surrender of the Assumptarians, the Empire Of Three Kings setup the "Eastern Terrorities Trading Company", a state owned corporation with monopoly over the land and exclusive priviliges over it. This monopoly on the land made the company very rich on assumptarian exports like sugar, coffee beans, tea plants and later in the 1800s rubber. Sugar was an especially profitable cash crop and led to the company refusing to crop rotate and instead grow sugar plantations on the same land year after year, only to seize new land from the assumptarians when the old sugar plantation soil became barren. For this reason for a time after the musterlarian exit from Assumptaria, land remained unusable until it naturally regenerated and 5% of assumptarian top soil depleted forever.
