Antienam, also referred to as the Republic of Antienam, is a nation located in the North-East region of Ardentia. Antienam borders multiple nations, on the east coast it borders the nations of Atraland, on the southern borders, it borders both the nations of Etrius and Solingarch. The Republic of Antienam is home to the compassionate and most devoted to both their nation and national religion. Antienam is known for it's beautiful architecture and buildings, an amazing example would be both it's well preserved marble-statues during the nations early ages and the many historic buildings that had been preserved from it's antiquity periods. One historic building would be the Church of Sancta Sophia, the massive church going back to the 1st Century.

Antienam is widely known for having it's national religion, being Christianity, many scholars debate whether the nation either follows Roman Catholicism or Orthodoxy, but it's generally accepted that the nation follows main-line Christianity. Christianity was introduced by an Apostle of Christ <TBA> by the year of 55 a.E, then becoming the nation's most followed religion by the end of 66 a.E.

Other than religion, Antienam experienced many events throughout it's history, from it's founding at 753 a.C to present day a.E. In a bit of irony, Antienam's early history is often shrouded in mystery, even the origins of the first leader. It's widely accepted by scholars and historians that the early known history of Antienam was subsequently burnt during the Great Fire of Konstantinoupole in the first century, engulfing many of it's history before the first century.

History

It's important to understand that for the next section of history, is based on legends surrounding it's very first leaders. Not all scholars and historians agree that this is how history went for Antienam, rather they agree that this is the only piece of history that goes along the lines of the actual story. Starting from the 19th century, many great explorers and historians are still uncovering Antienam's history, only up to 2007 did they discover the Patmos Scrolls which despite being a massive archeological find that benefitted the history of Antienam, is still missing the early pieces of Antienamese History.

Modern History

Society

Antienam have traditionally been characterized as being "humble people," emphasizing and upholding their values of morality, religiousness, liberty and equality. Culturally, the nation is also described as having a high eagerness to be competitive while also devoting some of the time to being altruistic.

The Republic of Antienam is also considered by many to have the highest protection of personal freedom to an extent. However, defacing anyone of important monuments will still land a person in custody due to it's importance.

Culture

Mostly all present Antienamese people or their ancestors came from multiple continents during the golden age of sail. As such, Antienamese culture largely derives itself from the influences of both the great west and the great eastern nations. And to an extent, the Antienamese people were also characterized as welcoming to the foreign immigrants wishing for a new life in the nation, due to the fact that Christianity was abundantly spread throughout the Republic, bringing in morality to the people and to the immigrants.

Dress

Although there are no dress codes due to the nation's protection of personal freedom, there are still laws to abide by. The most important law is to dress modestly, that means many people have to refrain from showing their parts out in public.

During summer-autumn times, Antienamese people are prescribed in wearing moderately light outfits, however during the dreaded winter months many have to dress heavy clothing. The winter in Antienam is far colder and far longer than many nations. Despite being outdated, there is no regulation on wearing classical togas or even medieval robes, but it's often frowned upon by many of the elder community simply because it's an outfit from a bygone era.

Literature

The Antienamese people are world-renowned for their literature, in both the arts and history. However, with many famous literary works, there will always be works that were lost. A great example of a piece of literature were the Patmos Scrolls which were originally thought to be either mythical, destroyed or something that was mistranslated was actually recently discovered in 2007, giving scholars and historians alike a massive piece of history and literature to digest upon.

Visual Arts

Music

Antienam is more-or-less described to having more of a rock and roll culture rather than hip hop. Even elements from Traditional Antienamese Music dating back from both classical and medieval can sometimes enter some of the rock songs of the modern era. Despite the Republic being oriented to rock and roll, Antienamese people also enjoy bluesy and big bands due to their brass sections. Mid-20th-century Antienamese jazz and rock stars such as John Fender, Chop Susie and the talented Miss Le'Garde became global celebrities and best selling artists, as have musical artists of the later 20th century, such as Kenny Hetfield of MetalMania, Mariablanca, Johnny Jackson and J. Nicholas of the Itchyheads.

Religion

Even in classical history, many scholars agree that Antienam is a safe haven to practice religion, just as long as the religious practices are cemented in morality. The nation of Antienam also has the world's largest Christian population. Leading to many being tolerant of other's practicing religion outside of Christianity. Other religions outside of Christianity were brought over here from immigrants of other continents , such as [T.B.A].

However unlike many nations, Antienam does not have any beliefs in some way of magical powers, but in the curious case of Christianity, some practices would be considered magical, such as baptism, communion, confessions, etc. However many scholars beg to disagree, as it was created and given from the Lord.
