The Erelim were the angelic rulers of the Sacrath Imperya yi Seibalathiyum (Sacred Empire of Seibalath).

Origin

These angels are supernatural creatures existing not by the laws of nature, conjured by the divine will of a deity referred to as Nymenna, or just simply "The Lord". Nymenna is written to have given birth to all life that exists, starting by the stars that dot the sky, and consequentially planets, and the lifeforms that exist within their realms. The Erelim in the texts have thus been tasked with overseeing the process of creation itself, leading and guiding the mortal races according to the script assigned to each one of them, up until the War in Heaven.

Appearances

The nature of their beings has it them possessing the appearances of the phylacteries Erelim are bound to, and with enough influence, are able to bend their shells into whichever looks they pleased, mostly as stunningly attractive, almost fae-like visages that inspire awe in the mortals that surround them, and thus worship. In their true forms, should they possess enough faith and power to manifest it once again, an Erelim's appearance will depend heavily upon the personality they manifest, an example would be a radiant pillar of brightness for the Lightbringer, and a monstrous flesh-abomination on the constant cycle of growth and necrosis for Yalakiel.

Attributes

Angelic

The magic they utilize are entirely of their own, and reflect on their various domains and personalities. Their power scales directly with the amount of faith in their possession, harvested directly from sapient creatures with self-though, and thus potential for magic, creativity, and free-will. All actions undertaken by a Erelim, including existence, consumes faith, which must be replenished through sacrifices, ritualistic worship, or even directly devouring a mortal's life essence.

An example of their magics is the ability to shape any life, evoke incredibly large explosions, turn water to wine/blood, and many other miracles, all of which consume faith. At worst, with no outside sustenance, they are only able to cast cantrips equal to extremely low-ranking mages (such as conjuring a flame equal to a handheld lighter). In short, their capabilities are based on how much power they can leech off another person's potential, like a parasite.

Non-Corporeal

Their existence in our world relies on anchoring their beings into phylacteries, whether an inanimate object, or a mortal host, much akin to possession. The process of anchoring into a mortal is through severing the soul that already resides in the vessel, absorbing it, and adopting both their memories and emotions.

They possess two forms, one of their mortal host, and another of their true selves, a direct reflection of their souls. They are able to mold their appearance to any aesthetic the angel wished, save for a flaw on their souls that will always manifest on their vessels, more so if the particular angel is corrupt or degenerate. Their abilities to hold themselves together into Kalrania depends directly on their level of humanity, if far removed, they are nothing but the mindless creatures known by many as fiends, demons, and aberrations.

The Nephilim

After the War in Heaven, hundred thousands of Erelim were obliterated from existence, the destruction of their non-corporeal forms due to Samael's betrayal, which led them to being reabsorbed back to Ma'chyclnniilhil. What remained in Kalrania was little more than a few thousands, and only six hundred that resides within Seibalath as of 2250.

Any form of reproduction between an angel and a mortal will result into the creation of Nephilim, possessing corporeal forms of their own, far-removed from divinity, a Nephilim inherits a part of their angel parent's true-forms, though incapable of utilizing any of the other powers, save for overwhelming physical prowess that far eclipses both their progenitors. Nephilims are almost always born malevolent, thus require constant monitoring and guidance to ensure they don't act destructively towards both themselves and those around them, a secret kept in their society.
