Nanzhou (Nanzhouese: 南州 tr Nánzhōu) officially the Federation of Nanzhou (Nanzhouese: 南州市聯合會 tr Nánzhōu shì liánhé huì) is a country in East Pamira. Nanzhou is the world's most populous country with a population of around 269 million in 2020. The country is composed of 34 states of which 6 are Special Autonomous Territories (Fakong, Dongdao, Neihai, Huizhen, Beizhou and Neiyan).
The first Dynasty in Nanzhou was formed in 1070 BCE as the Nanguo dynasty primarily in the south surrounding near the Fakong Peninsula which remained as a separate entity. The Nanguo dynasty would be the longest Dynasty in Nanzhou lasting until 770 when it was invaded by the Fakongese Fata'an dynasty from 770 to 1032 when the Fata'an were invaded by the Dong dynasty which constructed the TBD to prevent the Fata'an's expansion. The Dong collapsed in 1377 after the Emperor was killed leading to the Bengqi period in which dozens of states each tried to declare themselves as the rightful successor to the Dong. This period lasted until 1433 when the Zaisheng clique took over much of the country and the Zaishengese leader became emperor. This was also the first time Nanzhou was used to refer to the country.
The Zaisheng dynasty would last until the early 1800s when outside pressure primarily from Berea caused it to collapse and for several Berean states to establish spheres of influence and take port cities such as Pavlovsk-Vostochny. The Zaisheng were succeeded by the Xuyue Dynasty which lasted for less than a century. The Xuyue attempted to replicate the Industrial Revolution in Berea although were overthrown by the Republicans in the late 1800s. The Republican Government was overthrown in 1908 by the Military which was then overthrown by the Republicans again in 1920. In the 1960s Nanzhou invaded the Lavarian port city of Dongdao and the other port city of Huizhen was handed back peacefully after the Nanzhouese Military surrounded the city. Since the 1960's reforms the Nanzhouese economy has grown at a rapid rate and Nanzhou has emerged as a rising power in the world with the world's largest population and the highest GDP.
