Theodora, Grand Princess of Mesogeia (Theodora Rhomania Troadina Constantina Elena Maria Isabella; b. 12 February, 1991) is Tsarina of Velikoslavia, as the wife of Tsar Alexis V. Born Grand Princess Theodora, she is the eldest of nine children born to Constantine, Despot of Morea and Maria Isabella, Despotissa of Morea. She is both a member of the Mesogeian Imperial family by birth, and a member of the Velikoslavian Imperial family following her 2007 wedding to the reigning Tsar of Velikoslavia.

Early life and education

Theodora was born on February 12, 1991 at the Chrysokeras Palace, a favored imperial residence to their imperial highnesses, Constantine and Maria Isabelle, the Despot and Despotissa of Morea. Her birth was celebrated throughout the empire, due to her father being heir to the Mesogeian throne. Theodora was baptized on April 13, 1991, exactly sixty days after her birth with the Chapel Imperial at the Chrysokeras Palace serving as the site of the ceremony; with PLACEHOLDER and PLACEHOLDER serving as the child's godparents.

After her baptism, her full given name was announced as Theodora Rhomania Troadina Constantina Elena Maria Isabella

From birth she was acknowledged as her father's heiress presumptive and second in the line of succession until in 1997 when her mother delivered twins (a girl and a boy), whereas the girl did not effect Theodora's position in the succession, the birth of a boy (Michael) was heralded with intense celebrations expected of the birth of an heir.

Like previous imperial princesses Theodora was educated privately by tutors carefully selected from the top schools in the country and overseen by the Imperial Governess PLACEHOLDER, until about the age of six when she was enrolled in the Imperial Maidens School, a special institution located on the grounds of the Imperial Palace in Alexandropolis noted for its training and instruction of noble young ladies, wealthy socialites, and female staff of the imperial court.

Theodora's education at the Imperial Maidens School included history, political sciences, art, geography, literature, religious studies, and arithmetic; in addition she was instructed in traditional skills such as sewing, embroidery, dancing, singing, and courtly etiquette.

Theodora is fluent in Hellenic, Farsian, Latin, Vardanan, Audonais, Gariman, and Ludic.

In the spring of 2007 in connection with her engagement to the Velikoslavian Tsar, the Grand Princess was issued an advanced diploma from the Imperial Maidens School and a honorary arts degree from Panagia College, a consituent college of Mouseion University. This is a common Mesogeian imperial custom for a privately educated imperial princess to receive a degree from the university that their tutor originated from.

Following the annoucement of her engagement a prostagma, a special document was drawn up by the Imperial court which outlined the paramaters of Theodora's union to the Velikoslavian her. One such stipulation was that Theodora renounce her right to the Mesogeian line of succession for herself and her children to prevent a possible union of the crowns in the unlikely event of a union of the crowns. Theodora was hesitent at first to sign the document due to her strong familial ties, until finally her friend Lady Anna Komenene, the daughter of the Duke of Paphlagonia, convinced her that renouncing her rights to the Mesogeian throne did not mean that she was renouncing her family.

Marriage to Alexis V

On 11 June, 2007 she married Alexis V the eighteen year old Tsar of Velikoslavia at the Velinov palace cathedral, in a ceremony attended by # people. Upon her wedding day Theodora received a trousseau from her grandmother that consisted of two jewel boxes filled with pearls, emeralds, diamonds, rubies and sapphires, a linen chest furniture especially commissioned from the imperial furniture depository, a porcelain dinner service embellished with the couple's intertwined monograms. The Imperial Crown Estate issued a onetime lump sum of ₯2.5 million drachmas. The total estimated combined value of her trosseau and dowry that she received from the Imperial Crown Estate ranges from ₯5.5 million to ₯20 million.

A second private ceremony was performed at the Imperial Chapel of the Bosphoros Palace, the private residence of the Mesogeian Imperial family, located just on the outskirts of Alexandropolis.

Children

On 5 January 2008, the new Tsarina, gave birth to the couple's first child at the Silver Palace in Onsk, the Ivanov ancestral city. After the birth the couple and newborn baby stayed at Onsk together for a total of six-eight weeks before breaking with Velikoslavian tradition and bringing the child back to court with them. The closeness between the birth of their first child and their wedding has led some critics to speculate that the child was conceived in the immediate months leading up to the wedding.

A second child named Maria was born in 2010; a third child named Nicholas born in 2013, all born within the first five years of marriage. Two further children Michael and Theodora were born in 2015 and 2017.

As Tsarina

Almost immediately upon her marriage, Theodora stepped into her role as Tsarina and first lady of the Court at Velinov Palace. In her fifteen years as Tsarina she has devoted her time between raising her children, supporting her husband in the perfomance of his official duties, and patronage of charitable institutions resident in Velikoslavia.

The Tsarina has been described as a perfect counterpart to her more outspoken husband, while he has been noted for making rather brass comments, she has been careful to never take a stance on any political issue nor as she ever voiced her opinion on any controversial topics.

She has been particularly vocal regarding her support for the preservation of Velikoslavian historic sites and monuments,
