In the immediate years following the end of the Malgravean Civil War and due to reforms made to Ascension Productions the number of cultural productions being made in Malgrave rapidly increased, a period that has become known as the Cultural Revolution (Malgrave) which led to the rise of stars like Sakura Saito.
Yet the troubles of the Lost Decade led to a relative decline in these productions, as people across the country stopped purchasing new music at the same level and cultural inspiration was also reduced due to the depression of the era. In the early 2000s, however, the economy was showing signs of recovery, and new efforts were made to try and spark a new cultural revolution.
