The parties that are involved in the state government in the respective state are represented in the Federal Senate. The distribution of seats changes after a state election and the subsequent formation of a new government in the respective state.

Presidency
The executive committee consists of the president and a vice president. When it was founded in 1920, agreement was reached on an order in which these representative offices should be filled: the governors of the federal states assume the presidency of the Federal Senate in alphabetical order of their federal states. Since 1925 the term of the presidency has been two years, before that it was one year. Frankenburg was the first western Besmenian state to assume the presidency in the period of 1975-1977.
The current president is the Summingian governor Georg Stuck, who took office on October 20, 2021.
