Yulia Reznikov became the 50th President through a slim margin in the 1996 elections. Reznikov saw a number of controversies take place during her presidency, including the 1997 Vistulzkan power crisis and the 1999 Karpatskan Strike. She presided over the Six-Day War and faced serious scrutiny in her presidency due to her inaction during the first day. Reznikov directly involved Vistulzka with East Ruthen and froze relations with West Ruthen the following day, and later volunteered Vistulzka to United Congress Monitoring Authority for Ruthen. Her handling of the Six-Day War has been seen as one of the most polarizing moves ever made by a President, though many political analysts and retrospective accounts state that her handling and involvement positively overshadowed much of her Presidency's failures. | |||||||

Józef Kamiński is the incumbent president and is a member of the Orthodox Republican Party. Kamiński's government has been defined as one of the youngest governments within the country's history in an effort to promote political involvement within Vistulzka's young adult population. Kamiński's government has generally been characterized as progressive, and his government passed through educational reforms and aimed at reforming the faltering rail transit within the country under the Vistulzkan National Railroad Company. |
