Gòłosztrąd (Weranic: Kiesstrand) is a municipality in Ostry, with a population of 1,494. It is the most northerly community on the island, located on the leeward coast, north of Biôłi Kòscół.
History
Gòłosztrąd was officially founded as an outport initially built by the Krauss Fishing Company in 1881, and housed mainly its employees. The company town, connected to Erikstadt by a narrow single-gauge railway since 1870, saw minor growth until the Great War, which saw the village's economy collapse and the Krauss Fishing Company to leave in 1957, alongside the closure of the railway.
