Meharz was an Ethlorek city-state in east-central Trellin. Established in 724, it was originally a vassal of the Kingdom of the Pedallen but swore fealty first to Asketon and then to the Grand Duchy of Ja'ekha in the Anarchy of the 800s. It was a key city on the east-west trade routes, and after a hurricane destroyed the Fords of Flotir in 1196 it became one of only two cities below Asketon where the Flotir could be crossed. This spawned a rivalry with the Nersikan vassal city of Rasig and the War of the Two Ferries, a major conflict on the northeastern Sea of Velar. Meharz was formally integrated into Ja'ekha in 1389.
