Sir Arthur Canillac is the current head of House Canillac of Brytene and is the current Eorl of Susseax, elected on the 9th November 2015. He is also a prominent businessman and shipping magnate.

Biography

Early Life

Born in Whitebay in 1961 to the House Canillac, Arthur Canillac was raised with strong Catholic values and a classical, wide-ranging education. At the age of 12, he witnessed the Whitebay Crisis which devastated Whitebay and badly damaged the Hlaford Shipyards, which belonged to his family.

Career

At the age of 18, he went abroad to study a Bachelor's degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, followed by a Masters in International Finance Management. Upon his return, he spent several years working in a variety of roles across the House's holdings, before his fathers' death in 1986, upon which he became head of the house and inherited the family properties and holdings.

In 1992 he founded the Brytisc Frontier Party, an economically and socially right-wing party. The party has enjoyed moderate success and holds a solid amount of seats in the Thegn Rede.

He has run the Canillac portfolio sensibly, successfully growing SpearCorp Solutions and solidifying the House's role in the Brytisc and global maple syrup trade. He is currently also Thegn for Whitebay (Southern), elected for the first time in 2005 and every year since, other than 2011 when he took a personal year following a battle with cancer which he eventually won.

Following the 2015 arrest of Kenwine Edreath, former Eorl of Susseax, on suspicion of a variety of crimes related to the theft and sale of industrial military technology, Sir Arthur stood as a candidate for his replacement and was elected with 43% of the popular vote, giving him a 16% lead over the next candidate.

Personal life

In 1983 he married Estelle Canillac, née d'Emilion, a local chartered surveyor. Together they have two children, Celeste and Gerard. Sir Arthur also raised his nephew, Raynald Canillac, after the untimely death of his brother Hercule in 1984.
