The 1981 Besmenian federal election was held in Besmenia on September 6, 1981, to elect the 17th Federal Chamber.
After the snap election, the previous incumbent minority government of the Free Besmenian Citizen's Party (FBBP) and the Social Democratic Union (SDU) led by Premier Martin Beiter returned with a majority and continued in office. The election to the 17th Federal Chamber would originally have taken place in January 1984.
