Mathoian Clans | |||
In Mathoi, the Clan (or bon-gwan) system is practiced for surnames of any ethnic or cultural group. It was introduced in 1800, shortly after the country achieved federized, and was famously introduced because "the difficulty of managing the human resources of those who died and were injured in the course of the independence served as a paradoxical lesson". The introduction of this Clan system became one of the institutional mechanisms by which the 16 ethnic groups were to accept the Mathoian nation-state.
With the introduction of the ethnicity-neutral Clan system, all place names in Mathoi and some in foreign countries are Clans. This means that the population is re-divided and counted by ethnicity according to Clans. Introduced as an administrative convenience after independence, this system, whose original meaning has been considerably diluted, has had a profound impact on the daily lives of Mathoians.

Mathoi covers an area of just over 699,781 km2 and is home to 229.91 million people belonging to 15 different language groups, so language-specific divisions of the Mathoian Broadcasting Corporation serve as the public broadcaster for the 15 language groups. In addition, there are two private television stations and four radio stations per region.
The fact that the country is multi-ethnic and multi-cultural, with varying emotions, turbulent in its monotony, and diverse in its nations, has led to the creation of soap operas that specialize in modern love theme soap operas, sitcoms, and historical soap operas. These soap operas are exported to all corners of Oranland and Hesterath through neighboring countries. The resulting soap operas include Chronicle of Mathoian Republic and Mr. Tan's Daughters.
Other pop culture references include political satire, attempts to build an undersea tunnel, attempt to !Christian-fundamentalism have not escaped the radar of satirical programs.
=== Music === | |||
Mathoi is known for its intersection of various popular music genres. This, coupled with its multi-ethnic/multicultural nature, has led to Mathoi music being composed of many different genres. Genres such as rock and roll(including metal and punk), electro-folk, and pop music, which is influenced by !Korean, !Hongkonger, and Oranland but developed independently, are mainstream. Their influence is very strong among the Mathoian. It is common in Mathoi for rock bands, ballad solo singers, and idol bands to compete for chart positions. This has helped make Mathoi the most prolific winner of the Nullaric Song Contest.

Media and film
Music
