The Great Elven Armed Forces (GEAF; Verathi: Grote Elfen Krijgsmacht, GEKM), officially known as Her Majesty's Armed Forces (Verathi: Strijdkrachten van Hare Majesteit) are the unified armed forces of the Great Elven Empire, as constituted by the National Defence Act, which states: "The Great Elven Forces are the armed forces of Her Majesty raised by Atmora-Arcadia and consist of one Service called the Great Elven Armed Forces."
The Great Elven Armed Forces consist of: the Imperial Elven Space Force, a space warfare branch with a fleet of 8,675 commissioned ships, together with the Korps Mariniers, a highly specialised expeditionary force; the Great Elven Army, Arco-Atmora's principal land warfare branch; and the Imperial Marechaussee, the military provost and internal security force.
The Commander-in-Chief is the reigning Arco-Atmoran monarch, currently Empress Naomi IV, to whom members of the forces swear allegiance. The Great Elven Armed Forces is led by the Chief of the Defence Staff, who is advised and assisted by the High Command of the Armed Forces.
Recent tensions, particularly with Azakayana and pirates have reignited the debate for rearmament after the Tanabiku War. Despite the 2151 Treaty of Wolfina prohibiting Arco-Atmoran rearmament and militarisation of the Atmoran-Azakayanese marches the continuing pirate attacks on Arco-Atmoran colonies have greatly increased the armed force's budget and size through a series of legislation.
