Erik Tautenbach (February 8, 1937 – September 12, 2019) was a Besmenian politician who was Prime Minister of Besmenia from 1992 to 2000. Previously Tautenbach was from 1980 to 1983 Minister of Health in the First Beiter cabinet and from 1985 to 2000 the Leader of the Besmenian People's Party.
After the federal election 1992, Tautenbach formed between 1992 and 2000 the first blue-green coalition between the Besmenian People's Party and the Green Party of Besmenia. It was the first time in Besmenia that the GPB was involved in the federal government.
Childhood
Erik Tautenbach was born on February 8, 1937 in Butzleben as the second of three siblings. His parents were banker Hermann Tautenbach and housewife Bella Tautenbach (née Wagner). When Tautenbach was 8 years old, the West Besmenian economic crisis happened in West Besmenia, which affected the life of him and his family. So the family lived under poverty and Erik's father lost his job. In an interview, Tautenbach himself said that this was probably the worst time in his life. After the fall of the Ochsenbein regime and the opening of the border in 1948, the family moved to Trissia. There he spent his later childhood and youth in the North Trissian city of Trauthausen.
