Sasa is a city in the Zamastanian province of Northern Isle, located on the southern bank of the Danaska River and across the border from Gladysynthia. Known historically as an outpost for diamond and gold prospects, the city became an epicenter during the Second Danaska War for its placement on the Tariel Heights. It was succesfully occupied for 20 days by Gladysynthian forces, but they were pushed back during the Battle of Sasa.
With a population of 25,600 in 2022, up from 18,209 in 2012, the city's growth rate is fast in comparison to most cities in the province. Its economy is largely based on mining and forestry exports, with notable sectors emerging in the technology and information sectors.
