The Kalranian Federation of Association Football (Brennic: Fédération Kalranien de Football Association), more commonly known by its shortened Brennic acronym KFA, officially written as FKFA, is is an international self-regulatory governing body of association football. It was founded in 1922 to oversee international competition among the national associations of Etrius, Brennus, Sodor, Otyken, Allessia and Gora. Headquartered in Roayn, Brennus, its membership now comprises 42 national associations. These associations must also be members of one of the three regional confederations into which the world is divided: UAFA (Ardentia), EKFA (Tengerina & Tselmeg), and VFC (Vesperia).

FIFA outlines several objectives in its organizational statutes, including growing association football internationally, providing efforts to ensure it is accessible to everyone, and advocating for integrity and fair play. It is responsible for the organization and promotion of association football's major international tournaments, notably the World Cup which commenced in 1958. Although KFA does not solely set the laws of the game, that being the responsibility of the Kalranian Football Association Board of which KFA is a member, it applies and enforces the rules across all KFA competitions. All KFA tournaments generate revenue from sponsorships, having ended the 2019-2021 cycle with a net positive of $800 million, and cash reserves of over $2.5 billion.

Reports by investigative journalists have linked FIFA leadership with corruption, bribery, and vote-rigging related to the the organization's decision to award the 2002 World Cup to Nonadia, who would also end up the champions of the competition. These allegations led to the indictments and arrest of several high-ranking KFA officials and executives by brennian authorities, who have faced up to 30 years in prison and fines of up to ฿200 million.

History

The need for a single, international body to oversee association football arose during the early 20th century with the increasing popularity of international fixtures, specially as the sport started to become popular outside of Ardentia, the Fédération Kalranien de Football Association (KFA) would be founded in the brennian capital of Couvin at Rue Saint Andre 1742 on the 16th of June, 1922. The Brennic name and acronyms are universally adopted by all nations. The founding members were the national associations of Etrius, Brennus, Sodor, Otyken, Allessia, Gora and Brennus, with the nation of Outer Union expressing its wishes to form part of the organization, joining on the 23rd of November, 1922. The first President of KFA was Timothé Courbet.

Membership of KFA would not expand for over thirty years until the Kingdom of Honalulu joined the organization in 1957, which finally allowed for the hosting of the first ever World Cup the following year, followed by Seiyou in 1959. Membership would begin to expand during the 70's as the nations of Vestrbjǫrg, Avaria and Marovoay applied to join, its membership increasing every decade since.

Structure

Three confederations and 42 national associations

Besides its worldwide institutions, there are three confederations recognized by KFA which oversee the game in different continents and regions of the world. National associations, and not the continental confederations, are members of KFA. The continental confederations are provided for in KFA's statutes, and membership of a union is a pre-requisite to KFA membership.

In total, KFA recognizes 42 national associations and their associated men's national teams; see the list of national football teams and their respective country codes. Since the sport is not yet fully globalized, nor suited for all species, it is yet to encompass all, or close to all, members of the KLoN.

The organization has twice suspended nations from playing, both in 2018 when the nation of Otyken was barred from playing due to the controversy surrounding the Technate's invasion of Brennus, while the second time would occur after the World Cup that took place that year, where the nation of Africa was found to have been doping its players, which would earn it a one year suspension.

The KFA's World Ranking is updated bi-monthly and rank each team based on their performance in international competitions, qualifiers and friendly matches.

Laws and governance

KFA's headquarters is in Roayn, and it is an association established under the law of Brennus.

KFA's supreme body is the KFA Congress, an assembly of representatives from each affiliated member association. Each national football association has one vote, regardless of size or footballing strength. The Congress assembles in ordinary sessions once every year, and extraordinary sessions have been held once a year since 2001. Congress makes decisions relating to KFA's governing statutes and their method of implementation and application. Only Congress can pass changes to KFA's statutes. The congress approves the annual report and decides on the acceptance of new national associations, and holds elections. Congress elects the List of Presidents of KFA, its general secretary and the other members of the KFA Council in the year following the KFA World Cup.

KFA Council – formerly called the KFA Executive Committee and chaired by the president – is the organization's main decision-making body in the intervals of Congress. The council comprises 16 people: the president; 3 vice-presidents; and 12 members from the confederations. The executive committee is the body that decides which country will host the World Cup.

The president and the general secretary are the main office holders of KFA and are in charge of its daily administration, carried by the general secretariat, with its staff or approximately 120 members. Olwë Felsenbaum is the current president, elected on 22 April 2020 at an extraordinary KFA Congress following the suspension of president Dasante Ki'drick due to a corruption investigation.

KFA's worldwide organizational structure also consists of several other bodies under the authority of the FIFA Council or created by Congress as standing committees. Among those bodies are the KFA Emergency Committee, the KFA Ethics Committee, the Finance Committee, the Disciplinary Committee, the Referees Committee and the KFA Interspecies Dialogue Committee, the last of which being one of the oldest Committees, founded upon the entry of Honalulu into the organization in 1957 to properly discuss measures to ensure fair-play between humans, human-like and divergent species.

Administrative cost

The total compensation for the management committee in 2016 was 25 million brancs for 29 people. Brennian law ensures a mandated 1 million branc cap to all KFA salaries, with movement of money being heavily monitored after the events of 2019 to more closely monitor potential cases of bribes, embezzlement or racketeering.
