Kaoru Samonji (15 April 1911) is a retired New Akiba officer and Entrepreneur who served during the Estharian Civil War, Second Europan War, and the War of Lorican Aggression. Samonji is often known for his friendly attitudes towards ethnic groups, particularly the Maoru. A sensible commander, he ensured the welfare of his troops, down to the lowest rank.

However, to enemies, he is known as the Butcher of Quenmin for several reprisals, which he often gave orders to his troops to never take prisoners, owing to the policy in the 1st Maoru Battalion towards POWs. One of which was the Delphi Massacre, which was an allied reprisal to captured and wounded Quenminese troops during the Middle East Campaign, making him one of the most controversial Allied commanders.

He is the grandfather of Colonel Ukyo Samonji.
