13th century

Year Date Event
1253 House Lanchester rises to power on what is today the east coast of Arideo.
1275 Lanchester expands west rapidly by invading and annexing many of the smaller provinces on their border. The western provinces, previously split and busy fighting petty wars against eachother, unite under the banner of House Avlaventura to counter the Lanchester expansion.

17th century

Year Date Event
1625 Travis IV Lanchester raids Avlaventuran border villages. A contingent of the Lanchester forces lose their way and end up trying (and failing) to raiding the city of Drakneir. This soon escalates into the Avlaventura-Lanchester War when the Avlaventura forces under Pirces III Avlaventura retaliates on the city of Darmond.
1628 The Avlaventura-Lanchester War comes to an end; All Lanchester territory is annexed by Avlaventura, and the two surviving members of House Lanchester (Travis V and his wife Sannai) flee to the HLE. The Avlanian Kingdom is declared.

20th century

1925 February 2 Arideo becomes a client state of [COUNTRY/COUNTRIES] after the Treaty of Aquileia.
1926 February 2 The Constitutional Kingdom of Arideo (Aridite: Konstitucia Reĝlando de Arideo) is declared, and the first election is set to be held on March 1 every four years.
March 1 - March 2 The first Aridite election is held. The Aridite Freedom Party secures a majority government with 58% of the votes.
1930 March 1 - March 2 The second Aridite election is held. The Aridite Freedom Party, having suffered under a split party for the last four years, breaks up completely two days before the election. The Royal Solutions Party (RSP) secures 38% of the votes, a massive boost from the previous 9%.
March 17 RSP enters a coalition with several smaller parties, securing a majority government. The RSP starts centralizing power with the party leader.
1934 March 1 - 2 The third election is held with 64% voting. The RSP secures 52% of the votes, establishing a majority government.
March 22 The RSP administration passes the Government Centralization Act.
March 28 Protests break out against the GCA. Protestors claim the bill is aimed at stripping the parliament of its powers and urge the RSP to abolish it.
April 16 The town of Aglesa goes into open rebellion against the government. Other towns and cities follow soon after, and by the end of the day half the country is in open rebellion. The First Aridite Civil War begins.
April 17 The parliament is suspended indefinitely whilst the civil war rages.
1935 May 4 The parliament is abolished and all members are either banished from Arideo for the rest of their lives or executed. Amadelia I becomes the first queen of Arideo.
September 11 The Treaty of Starlin is signed between the Loyalists and the FPA, ending the civil war.
1938 October 11 Amadelia the First passes away from a sudden heart attack during the night, dying at 75 years of age.
October 15 Wilbert X ascends to the throne as king.
1955 June 2 Wilbert X is killed in a terrorist attack on the Castrio Castle.
June 6 Wilbert XI ascends to the throne as king.
1986 May 15 Pro-democracy protestors hold the largest protest in Aridite history outside Castrio Castle. As the day goes on, the protestors grow more and more unruly, until one of them eventually throws a bottle at the guards stationed at the castle. All hell breaks loose as a consequence as the guards open fire on the crowd, on Wilbert XI's order. 17 civilians are killed instantly, 4 die in the hospital, and 67 are wounded.
May 16 In response to the massacre, several mayors demand Wilbert XI abdicates. He publically refuses.
May 17 The mayor of Aglesa declares open rebellion against the crown at 07:04. Several other towns follow, and by noon, about half of Arideo is in open rebellion, declaring themselves the "Free Republic of Arideo". The government in Gvardio issues an ultimatum; Either willingly submit to the authority of the crown, or be branded terrorists. The FRA is given four days to respond.
May 21 The ultimatum issued against the FRA expires, and the forces loyal to the crown (Loyalists) officially declares a state of civil war. The first battles of the war take place.
Dec. 31 - Jan. 1 1987 Both sides declare a two-day ceasefire to celebrate New Year's Eve.
1987 March 5 The Free Republic of Arideo officially surrenders 8 days after the loss of Aglesa, and the Treaty of Resouvir is signed on March 5.
