Peter Demarc Semmens was a Jyau-born Vitosium military figure, politician, and statesman who became the 1st Chancellor of Jyau upon the independence of Jyau in 1919. Prior to this role, he served as the Vitosium-appointed Governor of the Province of Jyau from 1910 until his removal by Prime Minister Rudolph Raymond, and also served in the Vitosium Armed Forces. He is widely considered to be one of the founding fathers of modern Jyau, being one of the most outspoken figures for independence and a proponent of the Hickling Act. However, he is known for his extremist views which led to unrest in the years leading up to independence, and he was quickly removed from his Chancellorship and replaced by Winston Brisley.
