The Satrian Section originates from a 1934 split in the original Satrian Section of the Workers' International between the Ajahadyan and Arthani factions. The party was one of main forces behind the anti-colonial movement in Satria. At the onset of the Solarian War, the party's armed wing, the National Liberation Army, fought against Etruria forces. After the Coian Evacuation, the party founded the Satrian Commandery in 1946, which aimed to form a united socialist Satrian state. The NLA was reorganized into the Army of the Socialist Revolution in 1957. It would rule the Commandery until its reorganisation into the Socialist Republic in 1967, where the party officially dropped its pan-Satrian mission. It to continued to rule uninterrupted to the present day.

Nevertheless, the Section continued to exist and eventually found a use as a political front for Arthani-backed socialist rebels in Ajahadya.

The SSWI is officially organized on the basis of soviet democracy where each party body elects the next-highest body and the delegate model of representation where representatives must vote as their constituents wish. The party maintains local congresses who elect regional party congresses, who in turn elects the central body of the party, the National Congress of the SSWI. It meets annually to determine party policy and elect high party officials. When the National Congress is not in session, daily duties and responsibilities are vested within the Secretariat, which consists of the party's leadership and other high party officials. The functions as a collective leadership that governs by consensus, with the First Secretary ruling as Primus inter pares. Although the position is primarily responsible for civilian party duties, the First Secretary is effectively the party leader and the de facto the head of state of Arthadesh.
The Satrian Section is jointly governed by the First Secretary of the Arthani Subsection and the General Secretary of the Satrian Section. Nevertheless, the Arthani Subsection has a dominant role in the party, leading many to consider the SSWI as a branch of the Arthani Subsection instead of vice versa. The party's branch in Arthadesh is the largest organisation within the SSWI.

The party is committed to socialism and continues to participate in the Congress of the Workers' International. According to the party constitution, the SSWI follows the principle of People's socialism, which combines Athani culture, Council communism, left-wing nationalism, and Market economy into an ideology that the party claims can guide the country to socialism. It importantly claims that Arthadesh has not yet achieved socialism and is in the process of building the basis for a future socialist system.

The Satrian Section maintains near absolute power over the country, dominating at the federal, state, and local level. The party uses a combination of party-driven mass mobilization, the co-option of opposition movements, and repression to hold power. If these measures were not enough the party resorted to electoral fraud, such in the 1995, 2007, and 2015 elections. These elections featured protests and riots which were met by violent repression by the state. Since the 1990s, the party has loosened state control and other restrictions over the economy, as the country grew closer to Senria. However it has adamantly opposed political reform, that would separate the party from the state.

The Satrian Section of the Workers' International (SSWI) (Samundrese: कर्मी इंटरनेशनल का सैट्रियन सेक्शन, Karmī Īntaraneshanal kā Saṭrīyan Seknā), commonly known as the Satrian Section, is a transnational political party with branches across Satria. The party claims to be the legitimate Section for Satria rather than its Ajahadyan counterpart. The SSWI's claim is recognized by the Congress of the Workers' International and the Association for International Socialism.

The SSWI originates from a 1934 split in the original Satrian Section of the Workers' International between the Ajahadyan and Arthani factions. The party was one of main forces behind the anti-colonial movement in Satria. At the onset of the Solarian War, forces allied with the party known as the National Liberation Army, fought against Etruria forces. After the Coian Evacuation, the party founded the Satrian Commandery in 1946 and the Arthani Subsection to govern it. The Commandery aimed to form a united socialist Satrian state, of which Arthadesh was to be a part. The Subsection would rule the Commandery until its reorganisation into the Socialist Republic in 1967, where the party officially stopped actively seeking to establish a pan-Satrian socailist state. Nevertheless, the Section continued to exist and eventually found a use as a political front for Arthani-backed socialist rebels in Ajahadya.
