Foreign Relations of Syara

Syara's Foreign Relations are directed by the Executive of Syara and managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Modern Syaran foreign policy has largely been centered around safeguarding Syaran independence and limiting involvement in larger power dynamics across Tyran. Syara's strategic position at the western mouth of the Sundering Sea however requires the Commonality to take an active role in international affairs, namely ensuring the peaceful and successful facilitation of trade and transportation across Siduri and Eracura. Syara is a member of the Organization of Tyrannic Nations and an obvserver state to the Commonwealth of Soverign Nations.

Æþurheim	Tied between Syara and Æþurheim are very friendly owing to the Syaran-Æþurheim Mutual Defense Pact that was signed between the two states after the Refusal War. Æþurheim is Syara's largest trade partner and considered Syara's closest strategic partner; however, the Commonality also views Æþurheim as the extent of Syaran interests in Eracura beyond the promotion of peaceful interaction and trade. Æþurheim has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Lowellsburg.
Acrea	Syara has a strained relationship with Acrea owing to traditional Acrean hostility towards Syara and Acrean support for Ruvelka. Acrean Intervention in the Refusal War and the Zemplen War is generally seen by Zovahr as a sign of Acrean hostility towards the Commonality, leading the Government of Syara to accuse Acrea as promoting "a process of deliberate destabilization in Siduri". Acrea has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Trier.
Akashi	Syara has largely neutral relations with Akashi. Akashi has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Hirakawa.
Alemarr	Syara has largely neutral relations with Alemarr. Alemarr has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Jyväskylä.
Delkora	Syara has largely neutral relations with Delkora. Delkora has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Norenstal.

Ossoria	The Government of Syara officially considers relations with Ossoria to be positive and has cited Ossoria as a "key strategic partner in ensuring peace and stability in west Eracura". While not negative, public opinion of Syara is more mixed owing to Ossoria's bombing of Syara during the Refusal War. Ossoria has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Kenlis.
Schottia	Syara has largely neutral relations with Schottia. Schottia has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Handon.
Silua	Syara has largely cordial relations with Silua owing to the Commonwealth of Sovereign Nations. Silua has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Ravumo.

Svinia	Syara has friendly relations with Svinia owing to shared linguistic customs and historical ties. Svinia has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Hrabské.

Cacerta	Syara has a long and varied history with Cacerta, which for decades was dominated by violent confrontation between the two countries. Anti-Cacertian sentiment due to the Divide War was commonplace in Syara until the Refusal War, where Cacerta supporting the Wardens in their victory. Relations between the two nations have been largely cordial since the 1980s, and the two states have cooperated on a number of ventures. Cacerta has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embasy in Vichenza.
Gylias	Syaran relations with Gylias have been impeded due to widespread Gylian disdain for numerous aspects of Syaran culture and continued Gylian support for Ruvelka. The vast distance between the two states, coupled with their relativly limited ties, have largely limited the overall Syaran view of Gylias to a mostly neutral stance. Knichus	Syara has largely neutral relations with Knichus. Knichus has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Nycero.
Mansuriyyah	Traditional and cultural animosity between Mansuriyyah and Syara have inhibited close relations between the two countries since the Siduri War. Mansuri support for Ruvelka during the Zemplen War was a major issue for Zovahr, but in the decade since relations between the two have warmed. Mansurriyah has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Mansuriyyah.
Quenmin	Syara has largely cordial relations with Quenmin owing to Quenminese support for the Wardens during the Refusal War. Quenmin has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Cao Khoát.
Ruvelka	See Ruvelka-Syara Relations. Syara and Ruvelka have poor relations stretching back since the dissolution of the Rioni Union. Border disputes between the two states have resulted in a number of wars that have claimed over 23 million lives. Syaran public opinion has an overwhelmingly negative view of Ruvelka, although under recent administrations the Government of Syara has endeavored to improve relations, signing the Syaran-Ruvelkan Commercial Trade Agreement. Ruvelka has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Debrecen.
Tennai	Syara has friendly relations with Tennai owing to several decades of mutual support and political ties, owed largely to Tennaiite support for the Wardens during the Refusal War. Relations between the two countries remain friendly and cooperation on economic and military affairs is common. Tennai has an embassy in Zovahr. Syara has an embassy in Aminjikarai.
