Viola Hayes Hampton-Pierce (born Viola Anna Marie Hayes; August 25, 1961) is an American socialite, the first wife of technology entrepreneur Alon Hampton and second wife of cruise line magnate Bartholomew Pierce. She is also known as the daughter of secret millionaire Amelia Vega Hayes; mother to contralto Victoria Hampton-Chavez and aunt to Jacob Dunham, Jennifer Sloan, and identical twins Josephine and Jessica Dunham.

Early life

Hampton-Pierce was born as Viola Anna Marie Hayes in Seattle, Washington, as the first child of Amelia née Vega, a working-class office clerk born in Manila, the Philippines; and Philip Ricardo Hayes, an electrician of Hispanic descent from Seattle. Her maternal grandparents immigrated to the United States in the 1950s and settled in Tacoma, Washington with Amelia. Hayes's parents met and married at 16 and shortly after had her. Hayes's has a younger sister, Celina, 3 years her junior, who died in a car accident in 1998.

Marriages and family

Hampton-Pierce married two times. Her husbands are:

  1. Alon Hampton (1956–; m. 1986, div. 2000); with him she has one daughter, Victoria Hampton-Chavez.
  2. Bartholomew Pierce (1960–; m. 2018); with him she has five stepchildren from his previous marriage, Alonso Pierce (1990–), Claudia Pierce (1993–), Immanuel Pierce (1996–), Tono Pierce (1999–) and Claire Pierce (2002–).
    Through Bartholomew, Hampton-Pierce has a brother-in-law, Antoine Pierce, an attorney.
    Through Alonso, she has a step-daughter-in-law, Deshauna Barber, and step-niece, Tiana Barber.
    Through Claire, Hampton-Pierce has a nephew out of wedlock, Stephen Pierce.

Through her sister Celina, she has a nephew and four nieces, two nieces-in-law and two nephews-in-law: Her siblings children include:

  1. Jacob Dunham (1984–); formerly married to Candace Dunham (m. 2007–2011), the former first daughter of Washington state; currently married to Elena Sanchez (m. 2020) with whom they have one daughter, Rosalind Dunham-Sanchez
  2. Jennifer Sloan née Dunham (1988–); formerly married to William Sloan, a businessman, with whom they have two children, William II and Judah; currently married to Prince Leonardo, Duke of Moselle, a prince from Cordonia, with whom they are expecting a daughter
  3. Josephine Dunham (1992–); married to filmmaker Audrey Chapman (m. 2021)
  4. Jessica Dunham (1992–); married to Carter Ashe (m. 2021), with whom they have one child, Derick Carter Ashe
