Reberiya, officially known as People's State of Reberiya, is a sovereign country on a continent of Casaterra, in Septentrion. It is bordered by New Tyran on the west, Sieuxerr on the south, Sebrenskiya on the east, Eisenmaat and Bataviae on the north.

Reberiya is a unitary mixed democracy, with current head of the state being Vasil' Grytsevych, who is in office since 2015. The capitol of Reberiya and its biggest city is Zasichchya with 1.8 million residents. Other major cities are Synesercevo, Khmilnyk, Chygyriv and Portomyr.

History

First Settlements

First Reberiyan migrants arrived in the area in early 5th century after being pushed away from their original locations by Eisen tribes, as well as other Slavic migrating tribes, settling down in the northern part of country between the mountains, slowly advancing southwards through the mountaneous terrain. The whole passage from Eisen to then one of the minor Gaulish kingdoms was filled with settlements by 780.

Trade Republics and The Union

By 800, a series of trade republics were established along the road "from Eisen to Gauls", each controlled by a powerful merchant guild. However, Gaulic unification into Sieuxerr in 843 provoked them into action, as each of them felt threatened by this new big player appearing on their doorstep. This led to the Act of Union (reb. Ак'т злуки) in 854, where four most powerful republics along with a couple of less powerful states around them created a Federative Trade Republic of Rebria. New state used its new power to consolidate the taxing of the trade route, securing its economical survival. With the discovery of Blue Heart lake in 1129 and its massive salt deposits, Reberiya became a leader in Casaterran salt trade, bringing a period of prosperity to the land. However, the growing revenues led the ruling guilds and families to usurp more and more power, leading to general poverty among the disgruntled lower-class citizenry, which led to common banditry throughout the country throughout 13-14th century.
