Upon landing in what is now [[Monbec]], Gaullican explorer [[Rogerin Dumont]] planted a large wooden cross and claimed the land in the name of Queen Anne. [[Monbec|Fort Saint Marcus]] (present-day [[Monbec|Monbec City]]) was established upon his return in 1535, and acted as the springboard for further Gaullican colonial ventures in the region. New Gaullica's size was greatly expanded in the aftermath of the Gilded Wars, encompassing an area spanning much of present-day western [[Cassier]] and [[Rizealand]].
