The Commonwealth of Neuerstaat, commonly known as Neuerstaat or Indernähe, is a country located in Vesperia, it contains 97 Departments. Due to being a archipelagic nation, Neuerstaat does not share a border with any other nation, though it does possess a High speed rail connection to Laurentiea via the Auriga Tunnel. Neuerstaat does share a maritime border with Seibalath (Apart of the Ardenaraian Sphere) to the north, Eldamar to the Northwest, Arcadia to the West and Gora to the Southeast. The commonwealth stretches from Nerinach in the far south to Lamidier in the far east, encompassing a combined area of 771,627km², in total, the commonwealth houses a total population of 140.3 million people. Neuerstaat is a Unicameral Parliamentary Republic with the capital residing in Wächterstadt, the nation's largest city and main cultural and economic centre; with other major urban areas such as Ingens, Kasin, Puri, Tascanet, Brenagen, Atiren, Kempstadt, Tirest, Ausgaben, Kinsdorf, Polasen, Regina, Arkadia, Akron, Saumerhaven, Isterin and Windig.

The commonwealth is also apart of Vesperian Union and the Southern Defense Confederation, in addition, it also is a active member of the international League of Nations.

The Indernähe Archipelago was first settled in roughly the Upper Paleolithic with various tribes inhabiting the area from the Neolithic onwards, with the majority belonging to the Marinsters. With various Germanic tribes having inhabited the area since the Iron Age.

Tromark-Lorraine Situation

The Tromark-Lorraine Situation is an ongoing territorial dispute between Nonadia and Laurentiea, with the dispute occurring on the Island of Tromark/Lorraine, with the name of Tromark being assigned by Nonadian and Neuerstaater authorities and the name of Lorraine being the native name given by Laurentiean locals. Currently, the island is split in control between Nonadian forces and Neuerstaater forces, with Nonadian forces controlling the western portion of the island and Neuerstaater forces administering the eastern portion of the island, centered around the major city of Laurentville (Also known as Fredericksburg). The dispute stems from Nonadian claims to the island citing past evidence of Nonadian settlement on the island prior to it entering the control of the Pre war Laurentiean government.

Neuerstaat has found itself involved in the dispute due to the presence of it's troops within the eastern portion of Tromark/Lorraine, with the local Lorraine authority being under the control of the Neuerstaater occupational government, much controversy has thus resulted from this. Though not acting as an annexing force such as Nonadia with their portion, Neuerstaater forces have enforced a temporary government on the eastern portion of the island, which has acted as the official authority administering the portion since the conclusion of the Laurentiean Civil War, outraged Laurentiean influencers, officials and activists have decried the occupation as "a blatant move of imperialism disguised as peacekeeping".

The occupation of the eastern portion began in the midst of the Laurentiean civil war with the execution of Operation Messe by Neuerstaater Armed Forces,
