Biôłi Kòscół (lit. 'White Church'; Weranic: Weißekirche) is a municipality in Ostry, with a population of 2,793. It is located north of the capital of Eriksztadt and Przëkam-Roztoka, on the northern leeward side of the island.

History

Biôłi Kòscół was originally founded around the early 15th century by the Catholic Order of Saint Florin as the foundation of the Weißekirche Seminary, before its closure and demolition in 1874, leaving only the distinctive whiteboard church as its only remnant. Since then, Biôłi Kòscół has developed the largest marina in Ostry, and successfully placed the Weißekirche Seminary Church as a Heritage Monument in 1989.

Geography

Biôłi Kòscół comprises 22 km2, making it the sixth-largest municipality of Ostry. It is connected by the Ostric Highway to Przëkam-Roztoka in the south and Gòłosztrąd to the north.
